About this form
The Chief Minister's Canberra Gold Award recognises the unique contribution made by individuals and groups who have chosen to make a long-term commitment to the ACT. Through this award, the ACT Government celebrates this dedication by honouring individuals and groups who have resided or operated in the ACT for fifty years or more. The Chief Minister's Canberra Gold Awards are distributed each year as part of Canberra's birthday celebrations.
Criteria - IndividualThe award is open to individuals who have lived in the ACT for fifty years or more as at 12 March each year. Any individual may nominate a person for the award.
Criteria - GroupThe award is open to those groups, businesses, clubs, societies, organisations, associations and teams who have been present in the ACT for fifty years or more as at 12 March each year. Nominations should be made by the owner, President, Chief Executive, Director, spokesperson or otherwise appropriate person in charge of the group. Individuals wishing to nominate a group are encouraged to contact the group to propose a nomination be made.
Provision of false or misleading informationIf a nomination contains information that is false or misleading, it may be excluded from further consideration. The committee may seek verification of information before awarding a Gold Award.
Information and images uploaded as part of the Canberra Gold Award nomination may be made available to the public through the ACT Heritage Library for research purposes, or for publicity of the Awards. Editing may occur on information uploaded.
